All I can say is damn

As I briskly walk down the street to get my hair done, it's no surprise to hear the calls of hairdressers vying for my attention. The moment I set foot on the street, they’re everywhere like flies drawn to a ripe mango.

"Baby girl, would you like to change your hair?" one calls out. Others, more subtle, just hiss in my direction, hoping I'll turn and glance their way, giving them a chance to flag me down. Then there are those who don’t hold back with the compliments: "My princess, you're so beautiful! I can make your hair look just as stunning."

Some give up with just a shake of my head, recognizing my disinterest. But a few others are more persistent, trailing me down the road, pleading until it becomes clear I won’t give in. At that point, they move on to the next potential customer. These are the resilient ones, never easily discouraged.

Then there are the smart ones, stationed in the stores where I go to buy weaves. They blend right in, chatting with you as if they're staff, helping you choose the perfect hair piece. It’s only when it’s time to pay that you realize they’re not employees at all, they’re simply scouting for customers. By then, you’ve shared a joke or two, maybe even laughed together, and it feels nearly impossible to brush them off. You have no choice but to let them do your hair.

These are the “never give-ups.” They find clever, innovative ways to make you patronize them, pushing relentlessly until they get what they want.

Let each of these personalities inspire you to be resilient, innovative, and never give up on your goals.
