Paolo Ardoino, Tether's CEO, recently clarified that Tether is not planning to create its own blockchain, despite some circulating rumors. Ardoino stated in a social media post that Tether’s priority is to support other blockchain networks rather than creating one, as it aligns better with their goals of remaining decentralized and collaborative.

Tether’s approach, according to Ardoino, is to partner with independent layer 2 networks to support USDT gas fees, keeping Tether adaptable and neutral.
He emphasized that launching a dedicated Tether blockchain would risk centralization, which goes against Tether's
"Unstoppable TogETHER mission".
