Two Harvard students have developed a program for Meta smart glasses that collects personal data from those around them, allowing them to learn everything about a stranger on the subway in just seconds. Harvard students Kane Ardayfio and Anh Phu Nguyen created this real-life spy gadget. Here’s how it works: the glasses, equipped with a camera, stream video to a social media platform, where the image of a person's face is captured. Then, using this image, the person is searched across social networks, and within seconds, a program written by the students sends all the gathered information directly to their smartphone. Within moments, Nguyen and Ardayfio know everything: the person’s name, phone numbers, social media accounts, and even confidential U.S. social security numbers—which can be used to access bank accounts and apply for credit.
